Daily Journal Continued,May 3,1998, By-William Thomas Thompson (A letter to someone I believe God has put me in touch with) Dr.O Talmadge Spence,Th.D,,D.D., President,Foundations Bible College,Dunn,North Carolina 28335 (May the Lord bless this message and open new avenues of under-) Dear Sir. I respectfully respond to your kind and generous letter of April 24,1998. Let me first say that it is I that feared being misunderstood. In fact,I may be the last to understand myself. I heard a voice on WMUU FM radio that I suddenly understood clearly for the first time since I have been seeing a great new light of understanding of the history of religion and ultimately salvation as the reason I paint to point people to Jesus Christ as savior. (standing. Make us Dear Lord to recognize truth at all times) I am aware of your years at Holmes Bible college and of your de- parture as it were a flight to a higher level of understanding,a place where traditional church doctrine has little understanding. My involuntary venture into art has alienated me while educating me to the danger of futurism in the interpretation of prophecy. I believe the Revelation has been continually fulfilled from a his- toric point of view, understanding the future is to know the past. As I traveled South on I-95 I remembered hearing you when I saw the sign Dunn. I thought how much I felt the need for an inter- view with you when suddenly I saw this giant arena of arches that points in all directions and the exit in the right place,I found my way onto your spectacular campus and there you stood so tall and capable greeting me as though you were expecting to see me. Thank you for your time and endurance to stand there so long with me and patience with me to hear me and to so kindly set in motion an immediate tour of so great a display of Bible history in world terms as in my opinion the greatest. For me it was like opening a major surprise of my life that goes on and on into deep understa- nding the foundations of worship of all nations past and present. I just returned from the Las Vegas Art Museum where I attended 2 receptions for the opening of a Holocaust art show. The first was a reception for the Jewish community and both nights was heavily attented. I painted a series of nine shown as one big painting I did in black and white. People were deeply moved and I was touch- ed by the subject. I struggled with this project of great magnit- ude. I realize the great importance of being fair to all people concerned and truthful as well as being correct. I begin a daily journal on December 15 that has helped me identify my art before and after painting. I framed March 28,30 and 31 to hang with and to describe my holocaust art. All this is fulfillment of prophecy and fits into the big picture God has put on my heart to reveal. When you mentioned that my painting reminded you of the catacombs art of the persecuted Christians,I felt a need to know times and spaces. Your response was perfectly worded and helped me more than you will ever know. My art paintings have been called many difference things by those that know and those that do not know. I am unoffendable when it comes to my new appointed mission in life. I feel a common ground with your teaching and need more.
